We are winners of first round completion! We in round 2. Working on new features for our game. In version for round 2 will be available set of new features for earning skills and amazing game. Also we will add some abilities for self education as far our game not only for fun but also for education.

Game Story

MyFlora is an educational game for children of 6-12 years. It allows interactively introducing to children the process of agriculture and cities supply with foodstuff. Bright colorful episodes, ability to select plants to rear, plan cultivated area, pest control, harvesting involve a child into learning and perception of agriculture management process. All players get information not only about plants and their care rules (uploaded directly from Wikipedia), but they also get to know the geography and history of those countries, where they will grow their products.

Players can be situated in any place of the world, as information exchange between them will run through special web server. This helps MyFlora cover a wide range of children worldwide, achieving universal primary education goal. The winner of a game is player who manages to feed his/her city faster than others. Together players solve such an important problem as eradication of extreme hunger and poverty.

User Story

After the intro video is shown, players see the world’s map, where they can select any available mission (for example – Mission 1 – Ukraine, Mission 2 – Poland). After players select a mission (country), they will see the page with mission description (this should be done first, before entering the house!). Players read the task, click Enter button and get to their garden. There should always be the «I» on the screen, which allows players to read the task again (the time for reading tasks isn’t counted to the total time of the game)

The following parameters should be displayed as indicators or numeric values on the screen:

Floras – virtual monetary unit

Player’s skill level – from 0 to 1000

Harvest – counted in caloric content – in kcal, for example

Time – time elapsed since the game start – in days (months), for example

 

The player’s actions then should be as follows:

  1. Enter the house (the time players spend in the house isn’t counted to the total time of the game). In the house players can enter the shop (buy everything they need to complete the mission), read articles in Wikipedia about nay plants (search by key word), set radio (find the preferred channel that will play on background), look through the task, play the intellectual game “Quiz” (price – 5 floras), look up for the danger forecast (price – 10 floras).
  2. Got to the garden (the time players spent in their garden counts as the main time of the game). In the garden players can plant, observe their growth, take measures in case of danger, and harvest.
  3. Harvest damage control elements (the time spent for harvest damage control (bugs or mice chase, harvest, or caterpillar shooting) isn’t counted to the main time of the game). When players notice any signs on the plot, such as for example, red dots on potatoes, white spots on the wheat, flying butterflies around the trees, apples or pears on the trees, the approach to the plot and start a separate game to remove this signs of danger by clicking on a special button or object. Players can then move on to the next plot with other danger problems and fight against them there, too. And of course, there is its separate time and success indicator in this particular plot. If you have removed all the pests – the amount of harvest on this plot remains the same. The amount of pests you haven’t removed corresponds to the amount of harvest in kcal lost on this plot. For example, there were 6 trees with 20 kcal harvest each. You have removed 20% of caterpillars. Harvest left – 24 kcal. The rest of the harvest is lost.
  4. Mission completion. At the end of the mission (when the time is over) players sent their harvest and wait for results.The result “Mission failed” (only at short kcal) and the message “Start Mission Again”. The result “Mission Completed” and messages “You skill level - , Floras – “, and “Move on to the next mission”.

When the mission is successfully completed, players with the gained skill level and earned floras move on to the completion of the next mission.

When the last mission is successfully completed, a greeting video appears (happy people smile and eat all food). Player is offered to write his name to the world’s rating.

Time of growth – this is in how many months the plant produces crops.

Harvest – this is the maximum value, if the harvest wasn’t affected by denger.

Danger – harvest loss risk. For example: 50% danger means, that there will be harvest danger risk (mice) 5 times in 6 months. 30% - 3 times in 5 months, 40% - 4 times in 4 months or 4 times in 24 months – which means, 2 times in 12 months.

Sale price – Players can always sell part of harvest in the shop – by portions in 10 kcal – and increase the amount of floras they have.

Additional costs:

Owl activation – 10 floras – skill level – 0

In case of mice attack the players are helpless – they need to activate an owl. When you see mice on your plot, go to the house – shop – buy “Owl Activation” (you can also do it in advance), and when you are back to your garden, you will see an owl icon displayed on your screen. Click it and start chasing mice.

“Quiz” game start – 5 floras (winnings – 50 floras, if players answer all the questions correctly) – skill level – 0

Players can play for money the intellectual quiz at any time. Quiz questions are connected with grown plants (as an example, there should be a base of 30 multiple choice questions with 4 possible answers each). The chain of 5 correct answers gives players a prize – 50 floras and 3 skills levels.

Dangers forecast – 10 floras – skill level - 3

If players buy this forecast, they get a massage notice informing them, in how many days (months) and which plot will be attacked by pests. For example: “Wheat – in 20 days – mice”.

Growth activation – 50 floras – skill level – 5

If players buy this feature, they will see a watering pot icon displayed on the screen. Click it, water a certain plot – this increases plants growth on this plot threefold for three periods.
