Our Team is from Kharkov, Ukraine. We are all student at the Kharkov National University of Radioelectronics, specializing in Informatics.
We had many different ideas to make an application with XNA Studio, and the Imagine Cup competition actually gave us the idea of developing our own game. We decided not only to develop our game, but to give it a crack in Imagine Cup competition. This is a very interesting and challenging competition, giving us the ability to learn lots of new technologies, to realize our most daring ideas and try ourselves in games development.
Nowadays many children are undernourished, at the same time not having the ability to study and obtain knowledge. In our game we want to help children acquire more knowledge about the geography, history, botany, agriculture and in playing form to give them the ability to combat famine, as far as it is hunger and low level of education are the most important problems of the today’s world.
In the technically developed world there should not be such problems. Unfortunately, most of the citizens of socially protected countries do not even think about these problems. With our game we want to pay their attention to these problems. We also want to stimulate children’s desire for knowledge. Playing our game, children can gain more knowledge about the environment they are living in, and think about the hunger problems, we can solve them together.
Educational and mental outlook level of youth nowadays is often not very high. It is connected with the fact, that educational base is set in childhood. That is why we want children learn while playing our game. We’ve made an attempt in our game to bring knowledge in the form of a game, so that children can play and educate at the same time.
